Introducing the Patchwork Gilde Austria, a textile art association

Founded in 1996, the textile art association Patchwork Gilde Austria is dedicated to promoting the art of patchwork and quilting and building a community of enthusiasts. With over 850 members both domestically and abroad, the guild represents a vibrant community that continuously evolves through regular meetings, such as the Austrian Quilting Day and Quilt in Public Day across the states.

We conduct a variety of activities, including themed calls for submissions and organizing meetings and groups, to provide a central hub for the exchange and presentation of projects and exhibitions. We are committed to making the art of quilting and patchwork more widely known.

Additionally, our commitment extends to supporting the next generation through special offers such as our free membership for children and teenagers, including their own magazine, "Youth Pinwand," and the announcement of competitions.

Our quarterly magazine "Pinwand" keeps members informed about upcoming events and news and reflects the active life within the guild. Moreover, members have access to an extensive specialist library.

Významným bodem programu je Quilt Fest konaný každé dva roky, který naposledy přilákal v Gmündu v Korutanech kolem 1000 hostů. Některé z tam vystavených quiltů lze obdivovat i na aktuální výstavě v Brně – Brno Patchwork Meeting. Naše další slavnost se bude konat v roce 2025 ve Wiener Neustadtu v Dolních Rakousích. Nejenže oslavíme 30 let existence s rozsáhlou výstavou, ale na návštěvníky čeká i široká nabídka kurzů a nákupní míle.

Patchwork Gilde Austria spojuje lidi, kteří mají zájem o patchwork a quiltování. Vzájemně si pomáháme být kreativní a neustále se učíme. Naším cílem je předat tuto krásnou řemeslnou uměleckou formu další generaci.
